Prof Antonio Verdejo-Garcia
Antonio is a Professor (Research) and Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF) Fellow in the Monash Institute of Cognitive and Clinical Neurosciences (MICCN) at Monash University. He has a PhD in Psychology (University of Granada, Spain, 2006) and post-doctoral training in clinical neuroscience (University of Cambridge, UK) and neurology (Johns Hopkins, US). His research focuses on the cognitive and brain mechanisms underpinning reward valuation, executive functions and decision-making, and the implications of alterations in these mechanisms for addiction, compulsive eating and obesity. He has published >200 peer-reviewed articles, and his research is funded by the NHMRC and the ARC. His work has attracted over 12,000 citations and has been translated into clinical trials of neurocognitive interventions and policy recommendations regarding the use of neuroscience principles in treatment.
