Welcome to the 2019 Annual Scientific Meeting. This year sees the coming together of 3 outstanding organisations in the Australian New Zealand Obesity Society (ANZOS), the Australasian Society for Lifestyle Medicine (ASLM) and the International Chair on Cardiometabolic Risk (ICCR). As well as bringing arguably one of the longest acronyms for conferences this year, the joint organising committees are bringing together an extraordinary line-up of International and Domestic speakers to deliver the latest in Obesity research, clinical practice and public health policy.
The cross-cutting symposia this year will focus on two fascinating topics for attendees – the Microbiome and Gut-Brain axis in the context of obesity; and Feeding Behaviour and Appetite Regulation. The meeting will feature a diverse and vibrant group of established experts as we dive into topics already confirmed such as lifestyle interventions for cardiometabolic health; fuel selection and the regulation of energy expenditure; The latest in the Lancet series and implications for Australia and many more.
The meeting will be held at the International Convention Centre in Sydney from the 16 - 18 October 2019. We look forward to seeing you there! Look for more information on how to submit an abstract so you too can be a part of this outstanding program.
